Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals in St Helens are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in St Helens, you must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. You need a valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category, held for the time outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of your current address are required. 3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our St Helens location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and any security deposit are generally required upon vehicle collection. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection in St Helens, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed as part of this process. Cancellation and amendment policies depend on your booking type and the notice period provided. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Use of Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in other dangerous activities. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure the vehicle is used only for its intended purpose, and do not exceed passenger or weight limits. Driving outside of the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire St Helens will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
9. Local Law Compliance
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
